Petition Effort

Be it known:

That the U.S.-Cuba Energy Summit was organized by Cuba Petroleo in 2006 to promote trade with Cuba.

That a petition has been sent to the seven sponsors of the Energy Summit asking them to not trade with Cuba. The Don't Trade With Cuba petition was sent to each of the seven sponsors by the Secretary of the Cuba Liberty Project together with the on line signatures on January 2006.

Also, the following letter was sent by the President of the Cuba Liberty Project to the National Foreign Trade Council.

To the National Foreign Trade Council:

The Cuban government has been eliminating joint ventures that Europeans had with Cuba. A great number of companies like Spanish milk Penasanta have left the island due to this crackdown by Castro. The government keeps all the profit and does not provide compensation to those investors. Of course all along we have known of that.

The Castro government has failed to pay any of the debt that it owes to other countries making Castro a debtor. An example a merchant marine ship was reposessed by one of the Scandinavian countries for failure to pay.

It surely does not take a space cadet to figure out that as long as he is in power there will be no capitalism within Cuba. Castro has stated it time and time again.

To you the National Trading Council what part of there being no capitalism in Cuba as long as Castro is in power, do you all not understand? DUH!!!!!!

Cuando se quiere se puede

Enero 31, 2006
