Rollback Rate Ramifications

• Election to repeal increase(Sec.26.07)

• Petition signed by 7 or 10% of the registered voters

• Submitted on or before 90th day after the tax rate is adopted

• Governing body must either rollback tax rate or order an election

• Successful rollback requires the mailing of corrected tax bills and refund checks

• School district rollback election is automatic, no petition required (Sec 26.08)
